Scholarship Money

The UVU School of Education is offering student scholarships to reduce the costs of attending the "For the Love of Reading" Conference October 23 & 24, 2014. Recipients of this student scholarship will receive a reduced registration rate of $50, which includes two days of the conference and four meals.

Also, there will be scholarship moneys to cover materials in a “giveaway” presentation up to a $100, but must be spent at the UVU bookstore (see application form).

Proposals

Students are invited to submit proposals in any of the following categories:

• Displays
• Poster Sessions
• Presentations
• Give-away Presentations
• Blog Writing

In order to qualify for scholarship moneys, you must submit this applicationby May 5, 2014 to Nancy Peterson at [email protected].

Those selected to receive scholarships will be notified by May 23, 2014. After being accepted and notified, you must register for the conference by June 2, 2014 and commit to attend or you will forfeit your scholarship money. Register at: www.uvuengagedreading.org.

Applications

To apply for scholarship money, applicants need to submit the following after following the link:

1. A completed application form
2. A visual artifact of your proposed presentation, e.g. a picture of a book box, a handout, a link to on-line material, etc. OR if you are applying to be a blog writer, you must upload a sample blog that addresses a topic pertinent to literacy. (See the Engaged Reading Blog online at
